Kourtney Kardashian's 12-year-old hasn't been allowed to eat fries for a year – Metro.co.uk

Kourtney Kardashian Barker has revealed she keeps her family on a healthy eating plan – and her son Mason has not had McDonald’s fries in a year.
The Poosh founder, 43, admits that her own upbringing was less focused on health and wellness but she’s putting what she’s learned into practise with her own kids.
Addressing her own diet growing up, she told WSJ. Magazine: ‘It was the ’80s! We had really unhealthy food in our house.
‘Everyone ate chips and Lunchables and the animal cookies that were pink and white with sprinkles.’
Kourtney admitted that she would ‘get excited’ when she went to friends’ houses and tried healthy snacks from the one health food store in Los Angeles at the time, because ‘they tasted so different from the snacks I had at my house.’
She added that it was her 12-year-old son Mason, who she shares with ex Scott Disick, 39, who first inspired the change, explaining: ‘When I had Mason is when I really started my wellness journey. He’s very smart. He’ll tell me, “A person was bad because they let me have Cheetos.”’
The family lives so clean that it means takeaways are very few and far between, with Kourtney revealing: ‘Today I was having my one-on-one time with my son [Mason] and he said, “Mom, I need McDonald’s French fries today, please. It’s been a year since I’ve had it.”
‘I was like, “Today’s not the day, sorry.”’
Kourtney, who is married to Travis Barker, 46, added that the family are ‘pretty antisocial’ and tend to have a family dinner at home once a week with a chef cooking for them, as well as going out to eat ‘four times a week’.
The reality star, who has launched her own vitamin brand Lemme, also revealed that the most extreme thing she has done in her wellness journey is an Ayurvedic Panchakarma cleanse, which she is planning to repeat this Autumn.
The cleanse involves cutting out sex, caffeine, alcohol and sugar for five days, while also visiting a spa and having treatments for four hours each day, which she hopes will cleanse her body in preparation to have a baby.
The couple had started IVF in order to have a baby together but put it on hold while they were getting ready for their wedding.
Despite the restrictive cleanse, Kourtney revealed that she enjoys it because it makes her appreciate the things she is giving up.
‘The reward on the other side – when you can’t have something and then you have it, right? It’s like I can’t wait for all the obvious things, but then I also like the simplest things like I can’t wait to have caffeine,’ she admitted.

‘It’s definitely about moderation and being kind to yourself… If I’m going to Cabo, I’m definitely drinking margaritas and having chips and guacamole. It’s all about the balance.’
