Kanye West says he's never read a book, likens it to Brussels sprouts – USA TODAY

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has never been one to mince words or opinion. On Friday, he said reading is not his forte and claims he never reads books.
Speaking on a podcast episode of Alo Yoga’s “Alo Mind Full” podcast, which was tabbed “Ye: Music and Fashion Icon,” Ye said he’s a bigger fan of “good conversation” and talking as a way of learning. He compared learning through reading to one of his least favorite foods.
In response to the podcast’s host, Alyson Wilson Ye said: “I actually haven’t read any book,” Ye said.
“Reading is like eating Brussels sprouts for me. And talking is like getting the Giorgio Baldi corn ravioli,” comparing talking to a famous pasta dish that’s served at Santa Monica restaurant Giorgi Baldi.

Ye founded a private school, Donda Academy, in Simi Valley, California, named after his late mother and serving students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Requests for further information made by USA TODAY to the school requesting comment were not immediately returned.
On the same podcast Friday, Ye said that standard school curriculums need to be more balanced with other forms of learning vs. reading.
“We have to balance things with curriculums that allow for self-confidence,” he said. “Because so many of the schools and modern indoctrinations take away from the confidence that these future leaders would have in themselves.”
Ye’s contempt for reading didn’t just stop at books in the podcast interview. He expressed disdain with having to read long text messages, admitting to often only reading the first and last paragraph of those.

  1. This is the right blog for anyone who wants to find out about this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually would want…HaHa). You definitely put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just great!

  2. obviously like your web site however you need to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to inform the truth however I will definitely come again again.
