As appealing as the life of a superstar may look, it is as difficult and chaotic. While what we see on the screens is the end result, there’s a lot that goes behind the scenes when it comes to achieving a healthy and fit body. From following a strict diet, to sweating it out regularly at the gym, B-Town celebs have done it all. But the key to a healthy lifestyle surely lies in starting the day right with a hearty and nutrient-rich breakfast. Actor Ranveer Singh, who recently starred in the movie 83, agrees with it too!
The actor recently hosted an “Ask Me Anything” session on his Instagram handle, where he was asked what he ate for breakfast. He revealed exactly everything he had on a Wednesday morning and the list was lengthy.
He says he starts the day with a bowl of oats, measured to be 130 grams, with 15 grams nuts and 5 grams chocolate chips, following which he enjoys immunity-boosting shots, along with a detox drink. After that, he wraps up his meal with a probiotic drink and shilajit – ashwagandha date balls.

Shilajit is a blackish-brownish substance found in the rocks of the Himalayas that takes shape after centuries of slow decomposition of plants. It is known for its ayurvedic remedies and is said to be effective in bringing positive changes in the body. Not only is it rich in minerals and antioxidants, but it also contains a compound known as fulvic acid, which has several health benefits too.
The combination of shilajit and ashwagandha is said to be highly effective. Just like shilajit, ashwagandha is an ancient and a traditional medicinal herb that grows not only in India, but also in the Middle East and parts of Africa. For centuries, people have utilized the roots and orangish red fruit of ashwagandha for many medicinal purposes. It also contains many nutrients including magnesium and vitamin B6.
Given its richness, here are some of the health benefits of shilajit and ashwagandha on the body.
One of the many benefits of both shilajit and ashwagandha is that it slows the process of aging. Since shilajit is rich in fulvic acid, which is a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, it protects against free radicals and cellular damage. Ashwagandha or Withania somnifera root also have antioxidant effects, which helps slow the aging process.
Both shilajit and ashwagandha have reduced anxiety and stress levels in the body.
Cortisol is a stress hormone that is released when the body is under a lot of stress or has a low blood sugar level. Studies have shown that ashwagandha has the ability to reduce cortisol levels and manage it efficiently. On the other hand, shilajit can increase dopamine secretion in the brain, which may have a calming effect on your body.
Shilajit-ashwagandha are said to benefit people who struggle with low sex drive and infertility. From improving your libido to facilitating the production of testosterone, it can help men regain their sex drive and also cure infertility in them.
Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, ashwagandha also treats severe inflammation in the body. Research suggests ashwagandha helps produce immune cells that protects the body against inflammation causing infections, maintaining a healthy body. Since shilajit has abundant anti-inflammatory too, it can also help minimize inflammation in the body and relieve pain.
The medicinal herbs, shilajit and ashwagandha are both said to increase agility and endurance. Not only does it relieve you from fatigue and weakness, but also strengthens and builds muscle mass, while improving stamina.
Taking shilajit-ashwagandha may also improve cognitive functions. Shilajit in particular has been found to prevent or slowTrusted Source the progression of Alzheimer’s. Similarly, as per one review that included five clinical studies, it was found that use of ashwagandha could improve brain functions in certain populations, including older adults with mild cognitive impairment and people with schizophrenia.
