She-Hulk Episode 3 Review and Breakdown – VULKK.com

The third episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at law focuses mostly on Jennifer’s career as a lawyer. Her defense of Emil Blonsky, also known as The Abomination, is big news but also her co-workers at her new workplace play a big role in this episode. We have a few surprise cameos again this week.
In last week’s episode we saw that The Abomination went on a rampage in the same fight club where Shang-Chi fought. What we didn’t know was that Blonsky was sent there by a certain Sorcerer Supreme.
And if you are thinking Stephen Strange, you are dead Wong…eh dead WRONG! But yes, that was no mistake but a strong hint of who the Sorcerer Supreme is; It is indeed Wong.
Apparently, Wong told Blonsky that he needed his help. . Jennifer Walters confronts Emil Blonsky in his heavily guarded jail about the video and asked why he lied about him not becoming The Abomination anymore.
He replied that he never said that. He indeed said he wouldn’t do it voluntarily anymore. He was forced by none other but Wong the Sorcerer Supreme himself. He was sent there because the sorcerer was going through trials and tests in order to become the Sorcerer Supreme. And fighting the Abomination was part of that.
Blonsky states that he was taken against his will and that he wanted to sit out his sentence instead of breaking out of jail. Which he could have done at any time by turning into the Abomination and tear the place apart and escape. Even if it is a high secured facility.
It sure doesn’t help when Blonsky is up for parole and is unable to provide any accountability for his actions. Even if Blonsky talks about what he does in jail by having several character witnesses.
He is a really good samaritan by helping people left and right. But that wasn’t enough to get Blonsky out of jail. Through his penpal program he found eight women who he refers to as soulmates. He saved a guard from a bad marriage and renovated the library to a place where people don’t go to get shivved anymore but actually study.
Wong comes in to confirm Blonsky’s story to the parole board that everything he told them, that Blonsky’s hand was forced, was all true and factual. And he gave the same reason as above: In order to become the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong needs to take on the biggest challenges and The Abomination was part of that trial.
The character witnesses, that Blonsky’s plans to start up a meditation and yoga facility with his eight soulmates, were enough for the parole board to Blonsky go free but on the condition that he never changes into The Abomination and that he is to wear an inhibitor to prevent him from doing so.
And to think that the idea of Blonsky never turning into The Abomination was an idea of Pug’s client and former pathological naive colleague of Jennifer, Dennis. Even Jennifer was repelled by the idea but went ahead anyway. But that’s how Jennifer got to the idea to convince the parole board to let Blonsky go by telling them that he won’t use his powers.
In the second story arc of this episode, Pug defends a client named Dennis. He is someone who thought he was dating Megan Thee Stallion. He is being made fun of by both Jennifer and Pug.
When questioned by Pug how much money he spent on fake Megan Thee Stallion, he said it was $175.000, much to the hilarity of Pug.
It turns out that the client, Dennis, was being fooled by a New Asgardian shapeshifting elf. And now Dennis is trying to get his money back. While in court, the Elf’s lawyer argues that the New Asgardian should be let go because she is a diplomat and thus has diplomatic immunity.
The judge however rejected that argument because her immunity is only valid inside the borders of New Asgard while she is in Los Angeles. Then Jennifer testifies that Dennis is an almost pathological entitled person who thinks that all women are into him.
So if a fake Megan Thee Stallion would say that he would naively fall for that. Based on that the judge remarks that the sum of $1`75.000 should be repaid to Dennis and that the Elf is to be jailed for 60 days for impersonating the judge. Which is contempt really.
And no, Megan Thee Stallion is NOT New Asgardian, she was only being impersonated by the shapeshifter.
While walking home Jennifer gets attacked by a gang with stolen Asgardian weapons. They manage to grab Jennifer and they fight. Jennifer starts to scream but realizes that she is the She-Hulk and she is one of the most powerful people on the planet.
The fight starts and She-Hulk fights back while holding back. She wants to take them down and not kill anyone. While she is being held by one of the gangsters, the other tries to steal her blood. The needle however can’t penetrate the green skin.
While they run off, one of them goes saying something like “The boss will not be happy about us not being able to get her blood”. So the big question is: Who’s the boss?
So after three episodes, I can honestly say that I feel spoiled. Despite Jennifer arguing that this isn’t the show where you can expect a cameo every week, let’s sum up who we have seen so far:
That is a lot of cameos and I wonder who else we will see in the rest of the series. I have a wishlist for that by the way.
Here are my top 5 of cameos I want to see appear on a Marvel Disneyplus show.
So that is my wishlist for Disneyplus shows for cameos.
Megan Thee Stallion’s cameo was a lot of fun though in this week’s episode. But who is she exactly?
According to Wikipedia:
Megan Jovon Ruth Pete (born February 15, 1995), known professionally as Megan Thee Stallion (pronounced “Megan the Stallion”), is an American rapper and actress.
The coming about of Megan Thee Stallion appearing in She-Hulk has a nice background.
In an interview with TVLine, head writer Jessica Gao opened up on how Megan got to be on the show:
The dancing was actually added to the script on the day, because Tatiana was so excited,” Kat Coiro, who directed Episode 3, explained, and added that “she’s the world’s biggest Megan Thee Stallion fan and we were like, ‘We’ve gotta give her something,’ so they threw together this dancing scene.
For Maslany this truly “was a dream come true.” she admitted in the interview and said that “It was like one of my absolute top moments on set, of anything I’ve ever done. I was shaking and I was nervous, and then the music played and I was like, ‘I’m in a Megan Thee Stallion music video!
And for those who are wondering: yes, all of that is Tatiana Maslan twerking alongside Megan!
